Few things in this world are quite as disconcerting or disorientating than the experience of psychic awakening.
Apart from the difficulties of having to adjust to a new range of seeming super-human powers, the process also, invariably, results in a dramatic changes to the way we view the world, how we see ourselves and how we relate to others.
In the past, society has routinely condemned those who display extra-sensory powers as either insane or at best delusional. Whilst things have improved a little there is still no creditable system of support tfor those who are awakening to the psycho-spiritual force within them. It is fairly certain that neither your local doctor or community priest will be able to help.
Clairvoyance for Beginners is the latest book by psychic intuitive Alexandra Chauran on the subject of psychic awakening.
The author starts out explaining how clairvoyance is just one aspect of broader psychic development. As she points out, there are many other ways of being able to transmit and receive psychic information but this book focuses solely upon the process of inner vision and intuitive awareness.
The book is divided into five main sections and deals with a wide range of extra-sensory skills.
These include several topics that will be familiar to most readers such as lucid dreaming, meditation and visualisation as well as some less common ones such as smoke scrying, tea-leaf reading and aura drawing.
The book contains help and practical guidance throughout as well as personal reflections on the author’s own psychic life and experiences.
Towards the end of the book, Chauran includes advice and instruction on how the reader can perform psychic readings for others. This includes some discussion regarding the ethical issues that can sometimes emerge as well as the practicalities of dealing with the physical and emotional difficulties that psychic work can induce in a reader.
The book closes with a glossary and a short bibliography. There are no photographs or illustrations included within the publication.
Our Review of ‘Clairvoyance for Beginners’ by Alexandra Chauran
Whilst the author presents a cool-headed and personable account of the clairvoyant experience this is very much a book aimed at newbies to the subject.
The author attempts to cover a lot of ground in a very short space of time but the result is that too often some of the more important aspects of the subject are left unexplored.
Developing psychic awareness is a delicate, dangerous and challenging process of personal unfoldment and I feel that not enough advice was offered in its pages on methods aimed at protecting oneself against the negative issues that can arise.
I would only personally recommend that psychic centers are opened with recourse to an established system of magickal development.
The author of this book is a practising Wiccan herself and I feel that the book would have been better if based around her core esoteric philosophy.
On the upside, this is a book that many will find to be a useful introductory guide to the various core elements of clairvoyance.
For others though, it will be found to fall between two stools. Whilst its core material is interesting, it is rather erratically presented with poor chapter formatting making the navigation of its content somewhat difficult and sporadic.
A more logical and clearer type of presentation would have made this a better and more comfortable book to read in addition to turning it into a useful reference manual rather than a disposable. read-once and pass-on, read.
As a broad commentary on the mysteries of psychic awareness, this is a book that offers its reader an interesting glimpse into the hidden powers of the human mind.
If you are just starting to awaken to the inner potential that lies within us all, you will like Clairvoyance for Beginners.
However, this is not the most comprehensive publication on clairvoyance out there, so advanced students may want to look elsewhere.
